The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide Jefferson County residents the opportunity to share their views with state lawmakers during a series of four public forums during the Iowa legislative session. Dates: February 17 April 20 Time: 7:30am - 9:00am Where: Fairfield Arts and Convention Center ​Who: Open to residents of Jefferson County Cost: Free Monthly legislative forums are held from 7:30 am - 9:00 am on Saturday in February and April. Legislators will provide a brief update followed by a Q&A session moderated by the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Coffee and donuts will be available for participants. Thank you to our generous sponsors who make this event possible! Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, Freeman Kevenides Law Firm, Fairfield Community Schools, Sierra Club, and Jefferson County Farmers & Neighbors (JFAN). The Legislative Forums will also be live streamed on Fairfield Media Center's YouTube channel. ​If interested in the opportunity to ask a question during the Q&A part of the Forum, please form your question around one of the topics provided below. 2023 Holiday Lights

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will continue its decades old tradition of officially kicking of the Holiday season with our annual lighting ceremony on the square! See the town square come to life! The Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be held on Friday, November 24th, 2023 at Central Park in Fairfield. To kick off the illumination and subsequently the holiday season, the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce organizes this festive tradition with the lights being turned on at 6:00pm. Special thanks to our 2023 Holiday Lighting Ceremony Sponsor: Everybody's Whole Foods! The Fairfield High School Choir will set the mood by singing Holiday music at 5:30pm. The Chamber Christmas Committee chooses one citizen, whom best exemplifies the holiday spirit, and presents them with the opportunity to throw the switch to turn on the lights for the season. This citizen will be announced at 5:55pm so the lights can be turned on at 6:00pm sharp. After arriving to town as the lights come on, Santa can be found in the Santa House listening to the children share their hopes for the holiday season. There will also be horse drawn wagon rides around the square for the kids. Free hot cocoa and cookies will be handed out at the Santa House. An evening not to be missed! Return every Friday and Saturday evening to see Santa from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm each evening where you can get your photo taken with him then stop in at the workshop and add your photo to an ornament. The second Legislative Forum of the season will be held on Saturday, February 18th, at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. This monthly session will be held from 7:30am - 9:00am on a Saturday in February, March, and April. This Saturday, Legislators will provide a brief update followed by a structured Q&A session moderated by Mendy McAdams, Chamber Executive Director. Coffee and donuts will be provided to participants. These events are free and open to the public, thanks to our generous sponsors.
